GRAND RAPIDS — The Grand Rapids Gymnastics Academy’s (GRGA) Optional team gymnasts competed at the Crowley’s Winter Challenge meet on Saturday, Jan. 18, where they won the Level 7 team title and placed second in Level 8.

GRGA’s Jaden Hebeisen and Mileena Sladek led the Level 7 team to their first-place finish. Both Hebeisen and Sladek finished first in the all-around in their respective age groups. Hebeisen also won the vault title with a personal best of 8.9. Sladek won the bar title with a score of 9.2.

Luisa Francis led the team on both beam and floor. Francis scored a personal best of 9.225 on floor to finish second. Hailey Undeland also notched a first-place finish in her age group on the vault with a score of 8.85.

In Level 8 competition, Allie Haarklau led the team overall with a score of 35.125. She posted the team’s top floor score of 9.2 which was good for third place. Ella Storlie and Makenzie Mustar led the team on vault with scores of 9.05. Selah Villenueve led the team on bars with an 8.9 while Kate Clairmont hit the top beam score of 8.975.

GRGA will head to Wisconsin Dells on Jan. 25, for the Safari Invitational.
