GRAND RAPIDS — Run (or walk) through the streets of downtown Grand Rapids on Sept. 7, in the third annual Lumberjack-themed fun run to raise money for United Way.

The mile and 5K courses head down to Ice Lake and through the Itasca County Fairgrounds. At the finish line, enjoy an after-party on the grounds of Old Central School that includes pancake breakfast, music, and activities for the entire family.

The Fun Run check-in and registration time is 8 a.m. with the race starting at 9 a.m. The pancake bar also opens at 9 a.m.

Lumberjack activities begin at 9:30 a.m. with the Flip Relay Challenge slated for 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., presentation of awards will be conducted.

“It’s a healthy run for a good cause – every dollar raised supports our work to fund social services in the Itasca County area, not only providing grants to local programs large and small but working in the community to solve social needs, like childhood success and transportation,” said event officials.
