BEMIDJI — The Grand Rapids Gymnastics Academy (GRGA) competed at the Snowflake Flip Invitational held in Bemidji on Saturday, Jan. 4.

GRGA finished first in Levels 4 and 5 and Xcel Bronze. The Level 3 team finished second by just two-tenths of a point.

Level 5 gymnasts, Evie Renskers and Kennedy Garner, took the top two all-around spots in the competition as well as the top two spots on all four individual events. Renskers placed first all-around with a 33.3. She also took first on vault with an 8.95 and first on beam with an 8.6.

Renskers and teammate Garner tied for the top score on bars with a 7.9. Garner notched the remaining first place event finish with an 8.075 on floor.

Level 4 gymnast, Claire Fannin, led the way for GRGA finishing first in the all-around with a 34.95. Fannin also took first on vault, beam and floor with 9.0, 9.0 and 8.85.

Hannah Olds led the team on the remaining event, uneven bars, where she finished second with an 8.5.

Level 3 gymnast, Alexis Hutchinson, posted the top all-around score for GRGA with a 34.65. She also led the team on balance beam with a second-place finish and score of 8.8.

Tory Calaguire led the team on bars and floor where she placed first on both events with scores of 8.95 and 9.2.

Izzy Nelson led GRGA on vault with a score of 8.9, which placed second.

In the Xcel Gold competition, Kayla Nater put together a strong meet finishing second overall and first on the vault with a 9.0 . Nater also finished second on floor with an 8.925 while GRGA’s Ava Patnode finished second on beam with an 8.35.

Aliya Troop led the Xcel Silver team by finishing first all-around with a 36.00. Troop also finished first on vault with a 9.2 and second on floor with a 9.0.

Ginger Pogorelc notched two first-place event finishes on bars and beam with scores of 9.1 and 9.05 to lead GRGA on those events.

The Xcel Bronze team was led by Ava Meyer who won the meet with an all-around score of 36.1. She also posted GRGA’s top vault score of 9.2 to place first on that event.

Livia Lonson led GRGA on bars and beam scores of 9.35 and 9.3 to place first on both events.

Jocelyn Benson led the team on floor with a score of 9.15 to win that event.

GRGA’s Xcel and Level 3-5 teams will next compete at the Tropical Twist Meet in St. Cloud on Feb. 8 and 9.
