GRAND RAPIDS — Following are results of games involving the Itasca Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams:

Men

Northland 85

Itasca 78

GRAND RAPIDS — Northland slipped past Itasca 85-78 in Northern Conference action Jan. 11, at Grand Rapids.

Northland forged a dozen-point lead at halftime and then held on to defeat the Vikings.

Bakri Gubara scored 19 points to lead Northland in scoring. Ibrahim Nasir scored 15, Neal Garcia, 13, Isaiah Williams, 12, and Adrian Scott hit three 3-pointers and added 11 points.

A.J. Pinkney scored 27 points to lead Itasca. Terrell Burney had three 3-pointers and 16 points while Daniele Ricard scored 10, Zion Brown, eight, Tri’Mel Charlton, seven, and Eric Chenault added six.

ICC is now 7-7 overall for the season

and will be at Mesabi Range for a 7:30 p.m. game on Wednesday, Jan. 15. It is 1-2 in Northern Conference play.

GRAND RAPIDS — St. Cloud Tech defeated ICC 72-34 in action Jan. 3.

St. Cloud Tech led 41-7 at the half and went on to the win.

Kamryn D’Heilly scored 21 points to top St. Cloud Tech. Kiara Coops added 15.

Jordin McCartney led the Vikings with 14 points. Maddy Shepard added six.

GRAND RAPIDS — Lake Superior College downed Itasca 85-31 in play Jan. 4.

Lake Superior College led 41-14 at halftime and cruised to the win.

Svelana Stoen led LSC with 16 points. Sami Vezina scored 15, Sierra Giffrow, 14, and Mindy Campell added 11.

Haley Murray scored nine points to lead ICC in scoring. Jordin McCartney and Maddy Shepard both added six points.

GRAND RAPIDS — Northland topped Itasca 76-40 in divisional play on Jan. 11.

Northland led 40-20 at the half and took the easy win.

Carly Mekash led Northland with 18 points. Janie Wunderlich scored 15, Macy Skyberg, 14, Emma Duden, 13, and Bailey Greene added 10.

Haley Murray scored 16 points to pace the Vikings in scoring. Jordin McCartney added 13.

The women are now 1-10 overall and 0-2 in Northern Conference play and will be on the road against Mesabi on Wednesday, Jan. 15, in a 5:30 p.m. game.
