• Ronald Saxton, Hill City, received a BS in Multidisciplinary Studies from Grantham University in March.

• Braden Pohl is a United Steelworkers Local Union 1938 memorial scholarship winner for 2017. He plans to attend St. Olaf College after graduation from Grand Rapids High School. Pohl is the son of Darin and Tami Pohl. Darin Pohl is a production truck driver at Minntac.

• Brett Carlson of Deer River, and Delaney Kohorst of Cohasset, were recipients of the University of Minnesota Crookston President’s Volunteer Service Award for 2017 at the awards celebration which took place on April 20.

• Christine Johnson graduated from the Concordia University Doctoral School of Pharmacy in Mequon, Wis., May 12, and is eligible to sit for the national boards for a PharmD. She has been accepted into a Residency at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, Wis. Johnson completed her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, with a major in biology/chemistry. She is the daughter of the late Larry and Mary Johnson in Grand Rapids.

• Kary Sheppard, Grand Rapids, was a recipient of the 2017 Outstanding CSA Voting Delegate Award during the annual awards night at the University of Minnesota Crookston. Sheppard is a senior majoring in exercise science and wellness.

• Delaney Kohorst, Cohasset, majoring in management and marketing, was presented with an Outstanding Management Student Award by the Business Department at the U of M Crookston.

• Jenna Feltman received a Bachelor of Science from Minnesota State University Moorhead at the May commencement ceremonies. She is a 2012 graduate of Grand Rapids High School.

• Madison Reid, Grand Rapids, graduated from Macalester College on May 13, receiving a liberal arts degree in International Studies. Reid is a graduate of Grand Rapids High School and the child of Nancy Reid of Grand Rapids.
