In response to the “Our legislators can support our communities with a good bonding plan” article, I agree that the state should pass a bonding bill that will help build new infrastructure. Interest rates are low, and the state’s needs are high. The COVID-19 pandemic has taken a serious toll on our community and a solid bonding bill can keep Minnesotan’s working, help the economy, and build critical, infrastructure. Our Roads, Bridges, Residential & commercial Buildings Such as the Grand Rapids Arena/ Civic Center complex. It is in urgent need of Repair and updates to sustain a Safe facility to hold events all year round. The Arena brings in Millions of Dollars to our greater Grand Rapids Area. Area Businesses need and rely on this Business/income on a yearly basis. It brings in Monies to Restaurants/ Bars, Gas/convenience stores, grocery stores, area Resorts, Construction Companies and so much more. Which keep in mind all contribute to our TAX Base .We need to keep this facility safe not only for our Visitors to our City but also for our Kids and Grand Kids well into the Future I hope the Governor and the legislature will come to an agreement that can keep Minnesota’s infrastructure up to date, keep our communities safe, and serve as an economic boost.
