It’s important to accept that COVID-19 is a very serious problem, and I understand why people need to stay home to attempt to flatten the curve and reduce the spread. At the same time, it’s also important to understand how important it is to keep people working. If everything shuts down completely, our society shuts down completely, and we cannot afford that.
Which brings us to the other thing we all need to accept. As much as we need to stop the spread of COVID, we also need to find the best plans to bring our economy, businesses and communities back to life and back to work.
Line 3 is a guaranteed way to immediately bring good paying jobs to Minnesota. The Line 3 replacement project will put thousands of Minnesota workers to work and put food on tables of even more families across the state, and especially in northern Minnesota. Much of this work can be done safely, as other large infrastructure and construction jobs are currently being done.
Minnesota’s economy will benefit greatly from the construction of Line 3. In times like these we need deal with the challenge in front of us and make good decisions for our future. We need good things to happen, and the replacement of Line 3 will be one of those things.
