Itasca Community College (ICC) is making progress on the reconstruction and expansion of a welcoming space for students thanks to the generosity of donor gifts and grants.
The future McMahon Student Center is estimated to cost $4.9 million and will bring about a new sense of place for all who attend and visit the college. In essence, the new student center will be our community’s “campus living room” and is designed to provide a sense of belonging, connection, wellness, and recreation. Our donors are making an investment for each and every student and a boost for our local economy.
We know today’s students are looking for an academic experience that will lead to careers and opportunities. Beyond the Classroom programming and physical space will provide learning that expands their commitment to personal growth, to the vitality of the community that they will call home, and to broaden global perspective.
The ICC Foundation is very pleased that we have already raised $4 million toward this goal, but that means we still need you and your support to move forward with this project. The construction documents will go out to bids later this fall.
This project sends a strong message that the people of our region are forward thinking and leaders that prioritize education as a key strategy for community growth and economic development.
The volunteers working on this campaign, and I personally, would love to share more information with anyone who is interested in supporting the campaign. Our appeal to prospective donors is on a fast track; we invite you to join us today.
