Robert (Jake) Jacobs of Eagle Lake, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his home.
Jake was born on October 6, 1946 in Marshalltown, IA to Fred and Loretta (Goos) Jacobs. He was the oldest of five children. Jake graduated from Marshalltown High School, attended Northland College and received his bachelor degree from Mankato State College. Jake served in the United States Air Force.
Jake was the Assistant Principal and Dean of Students at Mankato West High School, Probation Officer for Blue Earth County, Sales Rep. for Mankato Business Products, owner of Park Lane Liquor in Mankato, owner of The Purple Goose in Janesville and was also the owner of Jackpine Junction in Grand Rapids, MN.
Jake enjoyed visiting and drinking beer in the cul-de-sac with his Eagle Lake friends and riding his Harley with his wife, Judy. His true passion was being surrounded by and laughing with family and friends. Jake enjoyed many sports, tennis and softball were his favorites. He loved cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and watching the Minnesota Vikings, which have been breaking his heart for 40 years!
Jake is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Lisa (Eric) Lage of Rochester, MN, Molly Jacobs of Phoenix, AZ, Krista (Brian) Kaplan of Las Vegas, NV, Melissa (Boogie) Nordberg of Grand Rapids, MN, and Angie (George) Broberg of Grand Rapids, MN; grandchildren, Douglous Jensen, Blake Kaplan, Madison Nordberg, Derek Broberg, Dominic Broberg, and Terrance Byrd; great-grandson, Luke Jensen; brothers, Ric Jacobs of Clear Lake, IA and Mike Jacobs of Marshalltown, IA; and sisters, Peggy Jacobs and Sue (Tom) Mull all of Marshalltown, IA.
Jake was preceded in death by his first wife, Laurie Jacobs and his parents, Fred and Loretta.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Northview-North Mankato Mortuary. A graveside service will be Tuesday, August 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Woodland Hills Memorial Park with military honors. A Celebration of Life will follow the graveside service on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. at the Purple Goose in Janesville, MN.
