Jerry Melvin Anderson

Jerry Melvin Anderson age 74 earned his wings on November 19th, 2019 surrounded by his family in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born to George and Alverna Anderson on June 19, 1945 in Deer River MN. Jerry was raised in the Deer River, Schoolcraft Park area and later attended North Central School of Agriculture prior to joining the Army.

After honorably serving our country he moved to Stillwater, MN. Jerry spent countless hours flying in and out of the Lake Elmo Airport where he later met his first wife Beverly Kern and they wed on August 1, 1970 and together they had 3 children; Gretchen (Mark) Kinder, Rebecca (Jeff) Urias and Aaron (Isley) Kern.

Jerry owned and operated Jerry Clipper where he designed and manufactured lawnmowers and grew and harvested sod.

Jerry loved to travel and met his second wife while on vacation in Thailand. On February 14th, 1992 he married Achara (Oiy) and her two children Chanon and Amphika completed his family.

Jerry and Oiy later relocated to Thailand where he owned and operated Pacific Turf and further utilized his engineering skills to design lawn mowers.

Jerry shared his passion for fishing (not always catching) with anyone who listened. He loved spending his time surrounded by his family in Thailand, Arizona and Grand Rapids, MN. He loved talking politics, history, anything to do with lawnmowers and flying. Jerry will be forever known for his sense of humor, infectious smile, quick wit and his “Crocodile Dundee” cowboy hat.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife and children, his amazing grandchildren, Liberty & Justice Urias, Axel & Gage Kinder and Sky & Jetsy Kern. He will be missed by his twin sister and best friend Judy Myers, in addition to his other siblings Barbara (James) Best, Joyce Walsh, Jack, Joe (Jojo) and Janel (Truman) Stumo. He was loved and had “Favorite Uncle” status to his numerous nieces and nephews.

It brings comfort to know he has joined his parents, sister JoAnn, brother in law’s John and Rex in heaven.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in 2020.
