In a triumphant return to stage, Reif Dance and Reif Theater Education concluded their production of “Babes in Toyland” on Sunday, Feb. 7. The production held six performances over the past two weekends at the Myles Reif Performing Arts Center in Grand Rapids. A recording of the performance was made for a digital audience and could be purchased as an alternative to viewing the play in person. It was the first performance for the students since the COVID-19 pandemic began a year ago. Reif Education Director Katie Smith partnered with Ely Band Director Sarah Mason to adapt and update the original operetta by Victor Herbert and Glen MacDonough. Original choreography was created by Dance Director Deirdre Murnane and the Reif Dance staff. More photos on page 8.
