Monday, June 10:
At 10:23 a.m., officers responded to a report of an accident on SE 10th Street in Grand Rapids in which a parked motorcycle was struck by a vehicle backing out of a parking space. The motorcycle sustained moderate damage. There were no injuries reported.
At 10:24 a.m., officers responded to a report of fishing rods stolen from a vehicle on NE 3rd Avenue in Grand Rapids. The value of the missing items is $500. There are no suspects at this time.
At 12:19 p.m., officers responded to a request for a welfare check on SW 8th Avenue in Grand Rapids. Itasca County Dispatch received a call from a mother who had came home and found that her son was locked in a bathroom. The mother felt that the son could be having a diabetic issue. Officers and Meds 1 staff arrived on scene and, after gaining entry to the bathroom, found that the male was lying on the floor and was deceased.
Tuesday, June 11:
At 12:15 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a burglary that had occurred the night prior on Crystal Springs Road in Grand Rapids.
At 2:24 p.m., deputies responded to a medical call on Pokegama Avenue South in Grand Rapids in which an individual had overdosed. Narcan was administered and the individual was revived and brought to the emergency room.
At 4:10 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Golf Course Road and South Pokegama Avenue in Grand Rapids to a report of a crash involving three vehicles. All vehicles sustained some damage and injuries were reported.
Thursday, June 13:
At 12:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of shoplifting on U.S. Highway 169 in Grand Rapids. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party who said the suspect attempted to walk past the last point of purchase with three pairs of sunglasses in his pants’ pocket and a sharpie marker pen. Staff confronted the suspect when the door alarms went off. The suspect indicated that he was going to pay for the items and intended to go to his vehicle for either his wallet or checkbook. The total amount of the items was $46.16. Staff retrieved all property from the suspect, which appeared undamaged. The suspect was trespassed from all affiliated stores for one year and was issued a misdemeanor citation for the charge.
Saturday, June 15:
At 2:03 p.m., officers responded to a report of theft of a power tool on Pokegama Avenue South in Grand Rapids. Officers responded and attempted to locate the suspect, who had left the scene.
At 5:26 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen purse from a vehicle on Clover Lane in Grand Rapids. The reporting party advised officers the purse contained $180 in cash, her social security card, birth certificate, drivers license, and passport. Officers advised the reporting party to contact her bank and the social security office and to watch her finances for any suspicious behavior.
At 6:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of an individual dumpster diving on NW 4th Street in Grand Rapids. Officers arrived on scene and did not locate the suspect at the time of the incident as she had left the scene when asked by an employee.
