Hit and run:

At 8:37 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a hit and run to a vehicle parked on SE 10th Street in Grand Rapids. Damage was to the car’s front bumper.


At 5:54 p.m., an officer responded to a report of theft at a grocery store on Pokegama Avenue in Grand Rapids. Taken was a salad valued at $5.24.

Tuesday, Feb. 11


At 11:40 a.m., deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Kate Street in Marble. Male party was arrested for domestic assault.


At 3:43 p.m., officers took a report of a telephone scam. Reporting party said caller left a message alleging it was from the social security office and said her social security number had been compromised. Reporting party called the number back and party answered as the social security administration. They did not ask for her social security number but indicated her number was found in a bloody car in a southern state and it showed she had houses in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico. All were linked to a drug ring from Mexico and Venezuela.


At 4:51 p.m., an officer received a call in reference to a past action vehicle accident within the parking lot of a store on SE 29th Street in Grand Rapids. Damage to vehicles was minor.

Animal complaint:

At 4:54 p.m., deputies took a report of two pit bull mix dogs attacking pedestrians on County Road 179 in Cohasset.

Wednesday, Feb. 12


At 8:20 a.m., officer received a report that someone had taken $400 from reporting party’s bank account while he was incarcerated in the Itasca County Jail.

Gas drive off:

At 9:13 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a gas station on NW Fourth Street in Grand Rapids for a report that a male had pumped $34.47 into a vehicle then placed the nozzle back on the gas pump in a manner so it would not shut off the pump. A search on the vehicle found it was involved in a gas drive off in Virginia and Pike Lake.


At 12:02 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a traffic accident at the intersection of East U.S. Highway 2 and SE Seventh Avenue in Grand Rapids. Due to traffic congestion, one vehicle was stopped behind a bus, which was stopping for the railroad crossing. That vehicle was rear ended while stopped. Damage was minimal no injuries were reported.


At 1:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a store on SE 29th Street in Grand Rapids for a report that two individuals were scanning one single item and bagging several. The total value of the items taken had not been determined.

Counterfeit funds:

At 1:38 p.m., an investigator took a call of several $100 counterfeit bills found at a local group home in Grand Rapids. Said investigator found all bills to have the same serial number as well as Chinese writing in pink ink on the left middle side on the back of the bill. Paper was also found to be non-consistent with authentic currency.

Thursday, Feb. 13

Gas drive off:

At 8:06 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a gas drive off at a gas station on Pokegama Avenue South in Grand Rapids. A silver truck with silver topper pumped $82.82 the previous evening at approximately 7 p.m. It appeared the suspect left the nozzle on the ground prior to leaving the scene.


At 10:40 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a nursing home on Highway 169 South in Grand Rapids for a report of stolen funds from a bank account.

Friday, Feb. 14


At 1:57 a.m., deputies responded to a report that a man had broken into a house on Silverwood Avenue in Marble and trashed the house. The male did not remember coming into the home. He was arrested for burglary and damage to property.
