Karen and Steve Teff, pictured above, are excited to welcome patrons to the official “Grand Re-Opening” of Clara’s Cupboard Antiques and More.

Clara’s Cupboard Antiques and More is under new ownership. The store, which first opened at its McKinney Lake location by owner Barb Nelson, moved to the Central Square Mall in April 2018. On Jan. 1, 2020, Barb retired and sold the business to Karen and Steve Teff of Jacobson (formerly Grand Rapids).

Karen and Steve have always loved antiques. Steve’s grandpa, Carlton Teff, was an antique dealer in the northeast corner of Iowa. Steve fondly remembers visiting his grandpa’s pole barn full of treasures.

The Teff’s started as vendors at Clara’s in February 2019. They quickly fell in love with the store and knew immediately that when Barb wanted to sell, they wanted to buy.

The store, although listed as an antique store, has so much more than antiques. There are handmade items, collectibles, nice used clothing, Minnesota gifts, items for a “man cave” and much, much more. In addition, there is a charity booth, where all proceeds go to designated charities. January and February charities are Second Harvest Food Bank and Scooby’s Animal Mission. The charities will change every two months. Clara’s is also featuring a local artist every month. They can get free exposure for their work for one month. Local artists are welcome to contact Clara’s to get their work featured.

The official “Grand Re-Opening” of Clara’s is taking place during the month of February, with many vendors having sales. Feb. 14-15 will be an open house with treats, drawings for gift cards, double stamps on our customer appreciation cards and free gifts with purchase!
