Pure Energy Studio dancers attended the Celebration Talent Nationals dance competition in Wisconsin Dells, July 9-15. They took 11 routines to nationals. Oskar Jenson competed for the National Finalist Award and he was selected as a finalist at the regional competition the dance group attended earlier this year. As a studio, they received the Make A Difference Award for donating adjudication awards costs to the charity Toys For Tots.

Some highlighted routines the dancers competed in that scored well included the solo performance “Time After Time” by Jaelyn Giving, who received a High Gold and placed fourth overall in the petite solo division. This was her first solo ever. The routine was choreographed by Emily Gran.

“Between The Wars” group routine scored a High Gold and was selected to compete in the Judges Choice Cup at the Showdown competition by one of the judges. Only three dances from all the 12 and under routines were selected to compete for this cup. Each judge got to select their favorite routine to compete. The dancers in this routine were Kendra Frandsen, Jayla Garman, Jaelyn Giving, London Plackner, Addie Reed,  Abby Undeland and Lily Wirtanen. This routine also was choreographed by Gran.

“This was an amazing opportunity for the dancers and a great honor,” said Gran.

“Stories On These Walls” scored a High Gold and won first place overall in the teen small group division. This was performed by Abbey Karnes, Chloe Plackner, Oskar Jenson, Abby Undeland and Bailey Walsh. The routine was choreographed by Gran.
