Powerful Tools for Caregivers is an educational series designed to provide caregivers with the tools needed to take care of themselves
The program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
Classes consist of six sessions held once a week. Two experienced class leaders conduct the series (many are experienced caregivers themselves, who have successfully applied the techniques they teach). Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help people take the “tools” and put them into action.
Participants will receive The Caregiver Help book, for free, which is developed specifically for the class, regular value $30. A donation to help defray the cost of the book is suggested, but not required to attend the class.
Classes will be held at the Active Living Center Classroom located on the YMCA Campus from 4:30 - 6 p.m. Sessions are held every Wednesday for six weeks and begin on June 19. A light dinner will be provided.
