Five children suffered minor injuries after a collision in Itasca County that involved a school bus, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol said the incident happened on Highway 169 near Itasca County Road 17 Wednesday morning, June 12.

The incident report said a Ford pickup was traveling south on Highway 169 when it began to turn onto County Road 17. The driver then decided not to turn and returned to the southbound lane of Highway 169, where the truck struck a school bus.

The Ford pickup came to a stop after hitting the bumper of a Dodge pickup that was stalled out on the right shoulder of the road.

According to the State Patrol, there were two adults and 32 children on the bus at the time.

Five of the children were transported to an area hospital for minor injuries.
