Wade Chiodo has been named the new Head Boys Hockey Coach for Grand Rapids High School pending School Board approval. Chiodo was selected by a committee of student-athletes, parents, community members, and administrators.
“We’re very excited to have Wade be the Head Coach running our Boys Hockey Program,” said Activities Director Anne Campbell. "Wade has been volunteering as a coach with GRAHA since he moved to Grand Rapids. We’re looking forward to him continuing the rich tradition of Grand Rapids Hockey as our head coach.”
Chiodo played for Bemidji State University Men’s Hockey from 2001-2004. Prior to moving to Grand Rapids, Chiodo was the head coach at Bemidji High School for nine years where he received the John Mariucci Coach of the Year Award for Class AA. Currently, Chiodo is the head scout for the Bismarck Bobcats with the North American Hockey League and is a coach and evaluator with WSA Hockey, CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance program, and the Upper Midwest Elite League.
“I am eager to become part of the storied tradition of Grand Rapids hockey,” said Chiodo.
