What would you bring to the city council that would contribute to the success of city government?

Vote for me as Grand Rapids mayor if you want to pay less property, income and sales taxes and desire more manufacturing jobs available here with starting wages of at least $10/hour. I want to help people become homeowners, perhaps for the first time in their lives. I want to improve local/in-going/out-going public transportation. I want to improve recycling methods.

My main concerns are with helping existing businesses and the poor, disadvantages, sick and lame. I love our wonderful senior citizens. I’m 57 years old and right there with you. As Bob Zimmerman, known throughout the world as “song and dance man Bob Dylan,” (Hibbing High School Class of 1959), said a few years ago in London: “Poverty has always been disenchanting.” Many of us know that not all poor people are lazy, just not all wealthy people are necessarily hard workers. I, myself, am a member of the hard-working poor.

What have you been hearing from constituents as the most important issues facing your city? And what would you do about them?

Gas prices are comparatively high. I’d try to put a kibosh on monopolies. Kapeesch? I’m not saying government is the answer to everyone’s problems, but I detest greed and corruption. I’m not a good ole boy, so I’m not seeking, nor will I receive these peoples’ votes.

I’m Jeffersonian, agreeing with our third president who warned: “Any government we set up will be in a constant search for revenue. We should have a peaceful and intelligent revolution every few years.” People in American government aren’t kings and queens, thanks to our nation’s founders.

I’m not Jewish, Arab, Italian, African, Chinese nor German - though some times I wish I was. My dad was full-blooded Viking and mom was an Irish-Swedish-Cree Indian girl who almost made it to the age of 90.

I believe Jesus of Nazareth was exactly what he said he was - the Christ. Proving it by helping the beaten-down people during that short existence as a human being. However, religion has no business in American governments.

I strongly support “Minnesota Oath Keepers.” We’ve read and understand the U.S. Constitution. I hate war because the masters just get rich and innocent people get hurt and/or died horribly. I love people who are witnesses to the truth.
