Loon Country Quilters will meet Tuesday, September 17th, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall in Grand Rapids.

The refresher/beginning quilting class starts promptly at 5:30 and runs for 30 minutes. Topic will be "Borders and Mitered Corners" taught by Toni W. What are the best ways to put borders on your quilted projects. And how do I do a mitered corner that looks good? Come hear the quickest and best way to master these two techniques! If you have any suggestions for future classes, please let Barb V., our member-at-large or anyone from the Program Committee, know.

We will have snacks at 6:15, meeting at 6:30 p.m. and the program will start at 7:00 p.m.

Laura G. will be our presenter for our September program. The title is “An Antique Quilt Trunk Show”. Laura is a member of our guild and has been quilting and sewing for a long time. She began quilting in 1984 and she describes herself as a traditional quilter (mostly). She started collecting quilts about 15 years ago. Laura actually attended the first LCQ meeting when the guild got started! Laura grew up in Winton, Mn and moved to Grand Rapids in 1983. She and her husband Larry have 3 children, 5 grandchildren and 1+ great grandchild. Laura says she is excited to share the quilts she has collected with us.

Our September meeting will be the last time for our used pattern sale. Remember this is was a successful fundraiser last year for program committee. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

There will be Show & Tell. We welcome all guests. You can find Loon Country Quilters on facebook at facebook.com/LoonCountryQuilters
