Emily Trout, Cohasset, has received a Scholarship Grant from the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 49. She is a 2013 graduate of Deer River High School and the daughter of Wesley Trout who has been a member of Local 49 since 2008.

Robert Heinzen, Grand Rapids, received a bachelor’s degree during the May 11 Commencement ceremony at Jamestown College. He majored in accounting and financial planning and wealth management.
Emma Nelson has accepted a position as a park ranger with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District in Portland, Oregon. A 2008 graduate of Grand Rapids High School, Emma graduated from Valley City State University, Valley City, ND in May 2013 earning a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Biology and Fisheries and Wildlife. Emma is the daughter of Michael and Doris Nelson, Grand Rapids.
Nathan Lindner, Grand Rapids, graduated from Concordia University, St. Paul during the graduate programs commencement ceremony held May 11 in Concordia’s Gangelhoff Center. Lindner graduated with a Master of Arts in Education.

Katherine Anderson, Cohasset, is the recipient of a Presidential Distinction Scholarship from Concordia College, Moorhead. Anderson, a May 2013 graduate of Grand Rapids High School is the daughter of Rev. David and Gayle Anderson, Ironton. High school activities included A-Honor Roll, Choir, Jazz Choir, Varsity Volleyball, Varsity Basketball - captain, Green Team and Captains Council.
Christine Johnson, GRHS graduate of 2009, has been accepted for admission to the Doctorate Program at Concordia University School of Pharmacy in Mequon, Wis., for the fall of 2013. Christine graduated from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, with a degree in biology/chemistry. She is the daughter of Larry and Mary Johnson of Grand Rapids.
