I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to State Representative Tom Anzelc for securing state assistance for our area in the special session disaster relief package.
For the late June flooding, there is now $79 million to fix damage to transportation infrastructure and $25 million for the state and local match for FEMA public assistance. This means Grand Rapids is eligible for funding to repair flood damaged roads. Also included is individual assistance of $15 million for businesses and $12.2 million for homeowners for damaged structures and to replace essential items like furnaces and hot water heaters. These include forgivable loans.
