Patricia Ann Christensen, a resident of Hill City, Minn., peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011.

Patt was born on March 2, in Chicago, Ill., to James and Jeanne Cullinan. After graduation from high school, Patt attended college at DePaul University in Chicago. She majored in English, Speech, and Communications. She enjoyed her teaching days at Brooklyn Center High School and Hennepin Technical Center, also serving as a substitute teacher at Hill City Public School. She joined the Foreign Service in 1954 to broaden her horizons politically and to see the world. She had two daughters with her first husband.

She married Ron Christensen in September of 1975. Together they raised nine children. They lived happily in Hill City raising their family and were the owners of Northland Telephone Company. Patt was an avid reader and writer.

Patt was preceded in death by her husband Ron Christensen, son Bart Christensen, and her parents James and Jeanne Cullinan.

She is survived by her sister Joanne Matousek; children, Katie Christensen (Joe) Cole , Jane Bristow, Bryan (Barbara) Christensen, Eric (Jean) Christensen, Kerry Christensen (Bob) White, Jody Christensen (Peter) Eisch, Paul (Kelly) Christensen, Rebecca Christensen (Jeronimo) Cruz; 18 grandchildren: Tony, Nicholas, Caitlyn, Philip, Anna, Elizabeth, Alexis, Luke, Alex, Lindsey, Charles, Stuart, Afton, Samuel, Faith, Emilee, Graciela, and Elianna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. The family wishes to thank Patt's niece Lin' Benson and family friend Michael Murphy for their wonderful care and support.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like all memorials to be given to Minnesota Public Radio (KAXE in Grand Rapids, Minn.). The family is planning a celebration of remembrance on Dec. 17 at the Quadna Loft at 1 p.m.
