Lawrence “Larry” “Boxer” Schultz, age 57, of the Prairie Lake area of Grand Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2006 in the Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital in Grand Rapids.

Larry was born on Jan. 22, 1949 to Lloyd and Margaret (Cooper) in Grand Rapids where he grew up. He attended Greenway schools, graduating from Greenway High School in 1967. Larry served in the Minnesota National Guard. On June 15, 1968, he was married to Joyce A. Schultz in Grand Rapids and they lived in Cohasset until moving to Prairie Lake. Larry worked 37 dedicated years at Iron Range Plastics in Cohasset. An avid hunter and fisherman, Larry was loved and adored and will be greatly missed.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; two daughters, Kimberly Elkins of Marble, Sarah Schultz of Grand Rapids; a son, Nicholas Schultz of Grand Rapids; his mother, Margaret Schultz of Mountain Iron; a sister, Margaret (LeRoy) Soyring of Mountain Iron; a brother, Carl Schultz of Angora; two grandsons, Aaron Schultz and Adam Schultz.

Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Rowe Funeral Home & Crematory in Grand Rapids.
