An officer, stopped to make a left-hand turn from Fourth Street Southwest onto northbound Pokegama Avenue South in Grand Rapids, saw a southbound motorist run the red light on Pokegama. After she was pulled over, the motorist said the public should have been notified when the traffic lights started to work. The officer told her she needed to pay attention, be observant and watch for traffic signals. She retorted that she didn’t want to hear anything the officer had to say. She was cited for the infraction. Reported at 1:10 p.m.
